Version History and Trash

Recover an earlier document state, restore a trashed item, or permanently delete only after checking retention.

Before you start

Version History keeps plan-bounded document snapshots: Free keeps 7 days, paid Personal plans keep 180 days, and paid Team plans keep 365 days. Trash holds deleted documents until restored or permanently deleted.

Complete the task

  1. Open Document Information and Version History to review an earlier timestamp.
  2. Preview the version before restoring it.
  3. For a deleted document, open Trash and choose Restore.
  4. Choose Permanently Delete for one or multiple selected items only after confirming that no version, export, or backup is still needed.

Check the result

Restore returns content to an active state; permanent deletion removes the selected document and its version history beyond normal in-app recovery.
