Replace a device or stop using sync

Use Replace This Device or Stop Using Sync only after preserving recent local work.

  • Sign in and confirm the active workspace.

Before you start

Replace This Device transfers the active slot from an intended old installation. Stop Using Sync disconnects the current installation from future workspace cloud synchronization.

Complete the task

  1. Wait until the installation with important edits reports Synced.
  2. Open Account Settings and the device or sync controls.
  3. Choose Replace This Device when this installation should take an eligible active slot, and verify the target shown.
  4. Choose Stop Using Sync only when you understand the local-content and future-cloud-access notice.

Check the result

The intended installation becomes active or the current installation stops participating in cloud sync according to the confirmation screen.
